~Why make this change? I don't really mind it, but why bother changing it? The standard name seems to be vendor for storing all the node_modules content.~

Disregard my last comment. I don't mind about the renaming, and while docs calls it vendor, plenty of other places calls it packages for the same purpose. So please rebase the PR and I can apply it.
