Instantiate collections for DynamicType properties #2256

Here I've been able to resolve the problem as per my reported issue. Though with only a moderate understanding of the entire library, please indicate if this has any unintended side-effects?

Only minor updates are required for us to be able to accept/merge this - update copyright year to 2024 and signe ECA at https://accounts.eclipse.org/user/eca
