Server restart on its own #3906

Closed glassfishrobot closed 13 years ago

glassfishrobot commented 16 years ago

The Server (cluster profile, linux boxes, single instances on node agent) restart itself without any admin input and without any logs explaining why.

This was produced when trying to test the server with a high load (faban script).

Environment

Operating System: All Platform: All

Affected Versions

[9.1peur1]

@glassfishrobot Commented granat said: In my Opinion, this issue is VERY important. I have continued testing Glassfish with a monitor keeping track of downtime.

I have 4 instances running the same programm and a load balancer (reverse proxy) in front.

ALL 4 instances show downtime due to a restart that is now where recorded in the logs (just that it is restarting)!! The Application is a small webbased GameOfLife Application to create a small "Background load" to see if the servers are stable over long period of time... this doesn't seem to be the case.

I can't confirm this bug, just yet. Need more data. If you are suspecting a VM crash, then I must say that you should get an hs_error file in instance's config folder. How are you monitoring the processes? What's the downtime? Does it happen only on cluster profile domain or otherwise as well?

I agree, this should be looked into, but unfortunately, I need (much) more data to ascertain the root cause.
