jsf-simple-partial-update sample doesn't work with IE 7

I'm using the latest promoted SDK and when I run the sample: jsf-simple-partial-update on IE7 (version: 7.0.5730.11), the sample doesn't function at all, and I see the following error on the error console of IE:
