Fix spacing in POM by removing velocity directive indentation; fix tabs

Fixes #179

Better to have normal-looking artifacts and a more-difficult to understand template than the other way around.... (move complexity from users to the maintainers).

I also:

• fixed a couple inconsistencies with the tabs
• collapsed the <project> element, (which is just a preference)
