I tried it a couple of month ago, and I thought exactly the same: this should be installed by default!

OK, easy enough to be done before the end of the week
note: the current version of Sirius in Eclipse 2020-12 is only 6.4.0
adding this update site will also bump Sirius. (however this is a minor version increase)
PRs prepared, can you test the correct presence of the ELK Sirius support in the resulting studio ? (cf. CI https://ci.eclipse.org/gemoc/job/gemoc-studio-integration/job/sirius_elk_support/lastSuccessfulBuild/artifact/gemoc-studio/gemoc_studio/releng/org.eclipse.gemoc.gemoc_studio.updatesite/target/products/ )
Sirius now has a smooth integration with the Eclipse Layout Kernel, which allows providing correct layouting of sirius diagrams. This is a really good to have feature for any sirius based language, and it may be installed by default.
to try it, install new software -> work with https://download.eclipse.org/sirius/updates/releases/6.4.1/2020-09/ -> sirius sdk -> Sirius ELK integration...
WDYT ?
