I guess it is generally possible to add Chronograf. Do you know of any features of Chronograf that Grafana does not provide? Any product comparisons in favour of Chronograf (over Grafana)? Doing a quick search I only found this and this outdated comparisons which are not (yet) in favour of Chronograf.
In case we remove InfluxDB in favour of other solutions for time series: How would that affect the choice of Chronograf?
From my understanding, Chronograf and Grafana are different things. While Grafana features the visualization of data from a InfluxDB, Chronograf represents an user interface to the InfluxDB. In this way, developers can administer the database and directly see what's inside and how the data are stored (which is not practically via Grafana and also error-prone). It's more or less a nice-to-have feature, but I mentioned it as some people already ask how to access the database and check the data. Actually, Chronograf seems to be the only convinient way to do so.
A convinient user interface for the InfluxDB would be suitable, especially for validating that correct data are sent and also to get insights into the data structure. It seems that InfluxDB support https://www.influxdata.com/time-series-platform/chronograf/ for this purpose. Is it possible to provide such a dashboard?
