Description

Build Identifier:

I have received several questions from translators with regard to the OCL plugins. Clarification would be appreciated.

1) Could you please explain what would be the meaning of the following expressions? What would be "Exp" and should it be translated abbreviated? \ Context: If Exp \ Enum Literal Exp \ Integer Literal Exp \ Unlimited Natural Literal Exp \ Let Exp \ File: eclipse\plugins\org.eclipse.ocl.ecore.edit\plugin.properties

2) Would you please confirm if "Iterate" is a verb or does it mean "iteration"? \ Context: Iterate Exp \ File: eclipse\plugins\org.eclipse.ocl.edit\plugin.properties

3) What is the meaning of "bag", please? Should we keep the types untranslated (bag, void, tuple, type) \ Context: Bag Type \ Void Type \ Tuple Type \ Type Type \ File: eclipse\plugins\org.eclipse.ocl.ecore.edit\plugin.properties

Reproducible: Always

Wow! I had never considered that these would be translated. They are nearly all spaced out class names, so the real answer is that they should match the translated spelling of the translated OMG OCL 2.0 specification.

I doubt that has been translated, and doubt that class names should be translated. A philosphy may be established by the translation of the UML or MOF specifications. Is Class or Property translated when used as the name of a class.\ For EMF, and UML2 how are the similar names in ecore.edit and uml2.edit translated?

I strongly suspect that this is an area where translating obfuscates so leave the text untranslated. The text nearly always appears on the sub-menu offering to create a New Child->xxxx or New Sibling->xxxxx.

The space separation can be confusing in English, obscuring the formal name from surrounding words; on other projects I have manually closed up the autogenerated spaces. If this is an even greater problem for internationalization, please raise a bug against the EMF edit code generator.
