Target Platform - New Site uses HTTPS instead of HTTP #156

Closed fisdam closed 9 months ago

fisdam commented 9 months ago

Version:

2023_09_R

Steps:

Plugin Development -> Target Platform Add a new Software Site Add an url with HTTP (NOT HTTPS) => It will fail with the error Unable to read repository at https://... which is normal because my repo url is HTTP not HTTPS.

Regression:

YES. I don't have this issue with version 2023_03 or before.

Version:

Thanks for the bug report.

What you are reporting is by design. Please see this new and noteworthy entry https://eclipse.dev/eclipse/news/4.28/platform.php#force-https which has what to do if you want to force allowing http

Thank you for your prompt response! Really efficient! It was the cause of my issue. I changed it to allow http. I think a log containing this link would be nice to guide the user.
