Converted v4.0.0 content to markdown #487

I left the original HTML files in place, but you should remove them as they are redundant.

Once this is merged, I will push a PR to update the README.MD on master so that people know where to look for v4.0 content.

This could also be a good time to uptick the version of this branch to v4.0.0-snapshot.
