Eclipse SUMO is an open source, highly portable, microscopic and continuous traffic simulation package designed to handle large networks. It allows for intermodal simulation including pedestrians and comes with a large set of tools for scenario creation.
Probably they should be ordered by usage frequency or thematic (or a mixture of both) but I doubt that background is a good idea for the first one. I would propose:
Streets
Junctions
Vehicles
Persons
Containers
Additional
POIs
Polygons
Legend + Background (merged)
openGL (maybe renamed to advanced and could incorporate the textures from the application settings)
