Hey @vitonsky, since you have "read the docs" I'm sure you came across our project goals (linked from our readme) as well, right? It explains how Theia is a framework to build custom IDEs, instead of a ready-to-go text editor. The landing page of the website explains that as well.
For me it looks as critical documentation bug, because whole project looks useless and maintainers efforts is pointless too then. If this project is not just a money-laundry, could you formulate the differences and explain it in documentation and landing page (not in comments for this issue).
If you have any respect for the people who offer their time and experience to provide a huge software framework for you for free, could you formulate your proposal in a way that doesn't attempt to insult its contributors and maintainers? Much appreciated.
In case you're interested in improving the project, help us by contributing a PR to our readme and our website-repo.
Here is a comparison between Theia and Code OSS. It is not about VS Codium, but many of the differences apply as well: https://eclipsesource.com/blogs/2023/09/08/eclipse-theia-vs-code-oss/
@JonasHelming perhaps a latest version of a comparison table is needed.
I just found https://theia-ide.org/ and have read it docs. I don't see any explanation about "what is Theia different of VSCode and VSCodium".
With such presentation i just closed this site and now when people will ask me about Theia i can answer only something kinda "it's just VSCodium, but they sell the point they are free but VSCodium are not".
