@mickaelistria
I'm interested. I'll try to allocate about at least 6 hours/week to continue yours and your team's amazing works :)
Please let me know what to do next.
The very first thing is to sign the Eclipse Contributor Agreement: https://www.eclipse.org/legal/ECA.php What is your experience with Eclipse plugin development? I think successfully maintaining the project requires a minimal experience with plugin development.
Done signing in the ECA.
To be honest, I have minimal experience with plugin development but not for public. It was closed source due to in-house plugin development for my previous employer.
@mickaelistria Do you need something else? Please confirm 🙂
There you are. You should have received emails about it. Please read them and related links carefully as they contain very important data on how to run an Eclipse project.
@eriawan you're now added as a committer (so you can merge code and nominate new committers), as a project lead (that doesn't bring that much extra power in general) and as administrator of the Marketplace entry so you can edit stuff. Feel free to ask any question and I'll try to build a contribution document accordingly.
@mickaelistria
Many thanks! Apologize not replying to you early, because I'm currently waiting for Eclipse Foundation's aCute committer confirmation.
@mickaelistria FYI, The paperwork is done on the Eclipse Foundation side. Thanks again!
OK, imho we should advance to graduate from incubation state, hopefully next year!
Eclipse aCute (using OmniSharp and netcoredbg) has reached a fair amount of regular users (~600 monthly installations). However the failure for the project to grow a good 3rd-party contributors community and to identify business opportunities with it has forced me and my Red Hat teammates to abandon the work on it. If you are or if you know anyone interested in continuing our work with Eclipse aCute, please ask them to get in touch with me -via this ticket or other channel- and I'll help with transferring leadership of the project so Eclipse aCute can continue.
