Troubles with using/filling/understanding the template and template instructions #164

Hi @malmans2,

I open up this issue to collect feedback from evaluators on JN-related stuff. Could you possibly conduct anyone facing trouble with the template and instructions here? Inserting a disclaimer on the home page of the repo or something similar?

All set. I've added a note in the README, in the template instructions, and in the template notebook.

Probably for me to do: we need to make it more clear that the 'graphical abstract' (first image before the methods) should have a caption (whether embedded in the image, a formal figure caption, or text below an inserted image).

Hi! I have just a little question about the image attachment. If I want to insert an image in the assessment that does not have a caption, like this one:

Is that correct? Also, is the 150px height fixed, or can it be adjusted? It seems a bit small.

Hi, that looks almost correct (see example below, you need to keep the 'attachment:', and don't need to manually add the figure numbering), and the height is not fixed so please vary it to work for your image (I should make that clear in the template also). Thanks!

The figure shows a sample  of the ECMWF monthly temperature bias for Western North America as a function of the starting month and of the valid month of the forecast. More details on how to interpret the results are available below in the notebook.
