I had installation issues in https://github.com/ecmwf-lab/climetlab-s2s-ai-competition/issues/6. these stem somehow from my conda env. however @floriankrb indicated that such installation and pytest CI might be useful here also.

cannot stop the notebook tests from happening. any specific reason why those should not be tested?
