We have EFI members who have opportunities to share about ecological forecasting at conferences sometimes at a table or with flyers. Currently, we have this flyer that highlights ways to get involved with EFI (which feedback on is also appreciated). But we don't have any materials about what ecological forecasting is, why it is useful for decision-making, examples of forecasts, etc.
We do have this 2-page pdf that was developed for undergrad and graduate students to provide an overview of what ecological forecasting entails, the types of careers ecological forecasters have, and examples of courses undergraduate and graduate students can take to learn concepts and statistical and computational tools in preparation to learn ecological forecasting.
I think the 2-page pdf provides some general information that is useful and could be used in a flyer. But it doesn't provide examples of forecasts.
I know @OlssonF has developed training materials for the NEON Challenge that she has presented at conferences, so perhaps we could use some of that material as well for examples of forecasts?
I think flyers/pdfs/handouts are a good option but I also wonder if we can get something more interactive? The tables that have the most attendance are the ones with cool displays/tools/hands-on activities. Is there a way to show examples of forecasts?
Perhaps using the NEON Dashboard?
