PDF output command:

• requires 0.12.3 or later to deal with image transparency

Much of the secret sauce of producing the original document formats has already been surpassed with officedown, and PDF rendering from HTML was an interesting idea but has since been implemented in pagedown. As such there isn't really a benefit to making those functionalities public-facing and separate from our internal templates. Also most EHA users now have github accounts they can install from github and don't need a drat repository. So most of this isn't necessary.

I'm not sure the current state of sidenotes/footnotes in the old formats in this package, but the main additional format that might target is the docx output. Originally I tried to make a docx and html look almost exactly alike, but HTML and HTML-to-PDF outputs need reason to exist before we put effort into implementing them.
