This is a critical issue as users tend to snap their spectrogram selections to the spectrogram borders out of convenience. The spectrogram will not load while the background goes back to the home page with the pulsating dot, never disappearing. It may be a new bug but I don't know when it started.
Some recordings include frequency 0 Hz, for instance in Iceland in the demonstration collection or here and there. It is impossible to zoom into a selection that includes the lower-bound 0 Hz.
In this recording which has a minimum frequency of 1 Hz, zooming fails only when the lower, upper frequency bounds as well as the left- or rightmost time bounds are included.
In this or this recording which have a minimum of 1 Hz, zooming fails when the upper and lower frequency bounds are included, independently of the left- or rightmost time bounds.
This problem was noticed only since we included multiple types of recorders into the WWSS demonstration collection. It seems to depend on the recorder model that generates the file.
