Thanks for the offer and I appreciate it, but the price of a server is not the constraint preventing me from providing a central server for anyone to use.
The only reason I haven't already done it is I'm not sure I want to take on the commitment of running the resource and handling all the extra config that'll be needed to make this project work universally. For example, right now I hard code data conversions into the raw data (e.g. km/h --> miles/h, celsius --> fahrenheit) to fit my preferences. If I decide to provide a service, I'll need to give the user the option of converting their data.
Data conversion is just one example of the dynamic elements in play here. I'm familiar enough now with the behind the scenes aspect of Torque that I know how I would go about doing everything, but it is just the time it would take to implement that is holding me back. That is why I wanted to gauge interest in the idea -- if enough people would be onboard, then I'd be more willing to put in the leg work to get it all buttoned up.
ok Matt !
If you need a server based in EU to improve experience of EU users then let me know ;-)
Have a nice day !

Hi,
do you want me to provision an ubuntu (or other) server with fix public IP address ? Then you don't need to purshase anything ;-)
Will also need to know what FW ports needs to be open and what protocol you'll use so I can make the right configuration on my FW
Let me know ;-)
