You should only be using the relative URLs so the switch shouldn't make a difference. I will confirm the links are entered correctly tonight.
I apologize. I didn't realize that WordPress automatically uses the full URL. Eddie, how do URL changes work in WordPress?
It depends on the context. Could you give me a link with an example of this in the sidebar.
Sure! On the "Reasons to Give" page, Development wanted the side bar to include a paragraph of copy with a link to the "Why Give" page. I've made the side bar as they requested, but was curious as to if we'd have to change the URL on links like this once the site goes live and all the URLs change. http://atru-demo.emoya.org/donate/reasons-to-give/
Regarding that sidebar, I'd argue against the text. It is way too much text on one page and it is duplicate copy to the previous page. Repeated content is never a good idea. Plus, if somebody is navigating through the site and the copy didn't interest them enough to click on Learn More on the Donate page, why would they click on it on the Why Give page?
Using images with captions to illustrate the point might be more helpful. Visitors spend very little time on a page. Images are the quickest way to capture their interest.
To circle back to Kerri's original question on this one, will the links have to be changed again once the site goes live?
For the sidebars, since we have to add everything with html coding, we are adding links to our pages with their current URLs. When we switch from the demo site to the real site, will we have to redo all the links?
