can't select radio button after click-event

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. click a star
2. process via ajax
3. attempt to update the checkboxes

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
nothing changes (expected to see the desired checkbox being selected)

What version of the plugin/jQuery are you using?
PLUGIN VERSION: latest
JQUERY VERSION: latest

On what browser(s) or operating system?
