You are going to have to give me a lot more information than that if I am to be
able to provide any kind of help.

Give me step-by-step instructions on what you do. What is the expected result?
 What is the actual result?

Perhaps you can attach a screenshot showing the problem.

Scenario :

Start Macvim
Open a perl file (it seems to be only reproducible with a perl source file)
In command mode, type ":tabnew"

Ok, the screenshot was good. Now I understand what the problem is.

What version of MacVim are you using (check the About dialog box on the menu
MacVim->About MacVim)?

What version of Mac OS X are you using? 10.4.11?

No worries. You should know that you are using vim-cocoa _NOT_ MacVim.app.
These are two different
programs. If you continue running vim-cocoa you should report your problems to
Jjgod Jiang here

http://code.google.com/p/vim-cocoa/

However, I suggest you give MacVim.app a try as well and decide whether you
want to keep using vim-cocoa
or switch to MacVim:
