':v' artifact appears under left scroll bar after entering ':vs' command and does not leave #247

See attached screenshot for visual.

What steps will reproduce the problem?

Type :vs in MacVim.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

Expected: A gray box underneath the new left-side scrollbar, as in stable
release 7.2.
Instead: Artifacts from previous command underneath the new left-side
scrollbar, ':v'. Does not
execute, but hinders the legibility of the command-line.

What version of MacVim and OS X are you using (see "MacVim->About MacVim"
and "Apple Menu->About This Mac" menu items, e.g. "Snapshot 40, 10.5.6
Intel")?

 Snapshot 51, 10.6.2 Intel
