@JRSijsling, our LICENSE.txt is what gpl recommends us to have available: https://www.gnu.org/licenses/old-licenses/gpl-2.0.txt

The last part, after "END OF TERMS AND CONDITIONS" is just a short text from GNU trying to tell us (and the next developers), how to use/enforce it.

If you prefer, we can for a shorter style, e.g.: https://github.com/LMFDB/lmfdb/blob/master/LICENSE
