It would be nice if there were some sort of explanation of choosing the right positioning for object. I've been working with ER for a few weeks and I'm still using trial and error to get objects to position and reflow as I want them.
In addition to having all the settings it would be ideal to have some visual model of what you want your object to do. Using Muse's "Pinning" along with some indication of what you want the other edges to do, for example...

Left-click on the center, edge or corner of a div brings up a modal menu of settings for that edge, center, or corner:
