disabling Alerts element #80

All right, this fixes it. I think process.env is the issue. So the environment alert is now commented out, along with the spreadsheet ingest.

Phew glad you found this! I've taken the liberty of refactoring the Alerts component, renaming it to EnvAlert & providing a default null return on render. Merging!
