thanks. PSA the header and footer cannot be modularized. putting it on a separate component, the content part occupies the full screen, making it cover the upper part of the contents. tried cheating via css and it covers the side menu. we have to settle for copy pasting header/footer. at least in the apps im using there is no footer in the page content itself imo. and there is no page header too. the "header" in mobile actually contains navigation controls instead.
