Fractions render incorrectly #4

The bar for fractions is too long and often extends past the numerator and
denominator. Denominator spacing is often incorrect.

The attached image showcases both problems for the expression \frac{1}{2}

I am unsure why the extra width was originally added; same applies for the 
spacing of
the denominator.
