No alternative text shows in Safari 4 on the mac? #330

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Using Safari on the Mac
2. Turning off or removing the flash plugin
3.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
The alternative text should be shown when flash is not installed, but it
does not. All other browser seem fine except Safari 4?

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Safari Version 4 Public Beta (5528.16) on Mac OS X 10.5.7 (9J61)

Please provide any additional information below.

Many thanks for your time.

Just tested your page in Safari Version 4.0.1 (5530.18) om Mac OS X 10.5.7 and
all
works fine: it does show alternative content. How did you disable the plug-in,
by
dechecking the Safari > Preferences > Enable plug-ins checkbox?

Hi Thanks for checking,

I actually removed the flash plugin from ibrary>internet plugins.

Strange... I tried several times with no luck, maybe I need to upgrade safari?

Besides the plug-in itself you also need to clear its references, so either use:
- the method I mentioned in comment 1 (easiest)
- the official Adobe unintaller
- plug-in switcher software

Thanks very much for the advice, I tried the option in safari to turn off
plugins and
it gave the desired result.
