Faceted search #55

Via Cathy Hajo:

The results list, whether searching or browsing through topics, articles, etc. doesn’t seem to come up in any particular order. As more and more material is added, this will become more and more unwieldy. When I search for “industrial” for example, I get 44 hits which don’t seem to be organized in any way. Would it be possible to get a results page that gave you the number of hits in topics, documents, notes, etc. and then you could click on the one that you wanted. Or could they come up in alphabetical or chronological order?

from Cathy on April 21: The simple text search box doesn’t allow for any kind of complicated searches, and the results are a little odd. When I search for Rama Rau and How-Martyn, I get nothing. When I search for Rama Rau How Martyn, I get three Notes that include both names. Because we are expecting to add a lot of material to this, some more advanced searching, Boolean options, or a new search within the first seach results would be very useful.

Search algorithm has been improved, and results can now be faceted on "result type" (note/document/foonote/topic/etc)

Still more improvements could be made, including more facet criteria.
