The Financial Industry Business Ontology (FIBO) defines the sets of things that are of interest in financial business applications and the ways that those things can relate to one another. In this way, FIBO can give meaning to any data (e.g., spreadsheets, relational databases, XML documents) that describe the business of finance.
A number of changes were made in late 2021 to the structure and content of the ISO 10383 MIC codes which should be reflected in FIBO, including the addition of legal entity names and LEI related information, additional kinds of markets with codes and so forth.
The markets ontology should be restructured to support the new format, and MIC codes regenerated accordingly, since ISO is phasing out the older format this month.
