The Financial Industry Business Ontology (FIBO) defines the sets of things that are of interest in financial business applications and the ways that those things can relate to one another. In this way, FIBO can give meaning to any data (e.g., spreadsheets, relational databases, XML documents) that describe the business of finance.

Description

  1. Restructure the concepts related to publisher, publishing house, financial information publisher, and published financial information to eliminate redundancy and clean up restrictions, including deprecating publishing house, financial information publisher, and published financial information
  2. Move the concept of a market data provider from indicators to publishers in BE and deprecate it in IND
  3. Replace deprecated / moved terms in indicators, securities identification individuals, market data providers, and equity index example individuals
  4. Add data reporting services provider to the markets ontology as a kind of market data provider and reporting party per ESMA regulations
  5. Loosened restrictions (or eliminated them) on some concepts where they were overreaching, on organization, legal person and legal entity
