The Financial Industry Business Ontology (FIBO) defines the sets of things that are of interest in financial business applications and the ways that those things can relate to one another. In this way, FIBO can give meaning to any data (e.g., spreadsheets, relational databases, XML documents) that describe the business of finance.
Revised the definition of ticker symbol per the FIGI 1.2 revision task force at OMG, with some adjustments based on a more expansive definition, and updated the reference individuals related to Thomson Reuters to reflect its sale of the market data subsidiary (rebranded as Refinitiv) to the London Stock Exchange Group. Also added provenance for some securities identifiers where they were lacking.
