scalar quantity as subclass of bfo:continuant is problematic.
The duration of a process is a scalar quantity (a property of a phenomenon) in commons, but it is not a continuant as it changes continuously and therefore is an occurrent
Same are time derived such as velocity or acceleration. For these you can define the differential as continuant (the current speed), but most have to be profiles in BFO and are therefore continuants.
The quantity values (information about quantities) are continuants (GDCs)
