continuation of https://github.com/edmund-huber/ergonomadic/pull/12 (I didn't have permissions to push to that branch).

Deals with all the review comments pointed out in the old PR.

@stumpyfr, do you mind checking that this change still works for you? If so, I'll merge. Thanks!

Made a quick test and looks ok. I have this project on the shelve for the moment, I hope be able to take advantage of that new feature soon :)
