Codes in the U-Chapter are reserved for diagnoses that are new or unclear. The codes are usually allocated after publication of the ICD-10-GM version. They are included in the online classification but the download files are not updated.
As the Covid-19 virus is expected to be of high importance for health services and medical research in the coming years. It is currently assigned the secondary code U07.1, incombination with an existing primary code.
Aim: Include Coronavirus (and, if practicable, other U-codes) in the package metadata (in particular, icd_meta_codes and icd_meta_transitions).
