Video calls reception - no way to stop receiving video #106

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Establish a call (using PBXes in my tests) and ask other party to send
video... you receive the video stream on mobile device.
2. Try hitting the "back" key to cancel the reception of the video.
3. The video keeps coming up untill the other party stops sending the video
stream (and you hit the back button).

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Would like SIPDroid to make it possible to allow/deny receiving video...
instead of being forced to receive video.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Latest version of SIPDroid. Google cupcake. HTC Dream.

Please provide any additional information below.
Adding this functionality will allow users to choose whether they want or
not to receive video from other party. By doing so, it is also possible for
SIPDroid user to send video (instead of being force to receive video
stream).

A very nice enhancement for the future versions of SIPDroid: support for
PIP (Picture in Picture) in order to do both ... send and receive video.
Note: I'm not sure if the processor and memory of the device can withstand
it.

You can press Home to to stop video reception. However, from Home there is no
way to
send video, DTMF, etc.

It's good to know, thanks... nevertheless, I still think it would be a nice
enhancement
to SIPDroid if it could handle video transmission/reception in a more "elegant"
way.

After all, video calls/conferences are the way of the future... right ? ;-)

Can you please add by which SIP providers you establish video call? As I cannot
establish one and I was using several SIP providers (from Poland) aslo directly
as
through pbxe.org and cannot get proper combination.

Thanks but I was trying to do this under 1.5 Cupcake. At least I know to use
x-lite
as other side but it is not a critical information. Still don't have any
information
under which SIP providers account I should be able to send video. I don't want
to
start new issue that sending video isn't possible as for what I've read it is
possible but with particular combination of accounts.

[EDIT]: As everything what I am testing is developed under emulator - I just
found
out that emulator has issues with recieving RTP/RTSP transmission. So probably
my
concern is false and will vanish when I try video call over real device. Sorry
for
litle chaos but this information may also be helpful to others. RTSP issue ->

I have the same problem. I use I use a mini acer liquid, Android 2.3. I can
send the video from the smartphone to the PC but I can not receive video from
PC to smartphones. I use x-lite on mac and FreePBX. Someone managed to Rivere
and send streaming video without problems? I do not know if I have a
configuration problem, or if it is a limit Sipdroid.

thanks and best regards.
