Requesting access on Wikimedia tool server #120

Per the instructions at https://tools.wmflabs.org/anon/ I'm requesting access to set up on the tool server shared instance. I'm trying to stand up an instance for the alternative medicine industry at @AltMedEdits - I've gotten anon running and have a few ranges, but I have yet to get a hit. So I figure a shared instance would be a good bet rather than paying to run an instance that rarely gets any hits.

One note: I am very interested in using the whitelist functionality as well, but I note in another issue you're thinking of removing it from this project. Please advise - are you going to set up a shared instance of the Congress Edits fork too?

My Tools account is also named krelnik.

Hi @krelnik sorry for the delay. I set you up as a project member on Tools Labs for the anon project. So you should be able to:

ssh krelnik@tools-dev.wmflabs.org
become anon

This should drop you into the working directory for anon. Take a look at the README in there for information on generating the access_token and secret that anon will need to post as your Twitter account. You are the first person to give it a try, so let me know of problems you run into.

I will leave the whitelist functionality in anon for now. the congresseditors bot is substantially different from anon now, and not really general purpose.

I'll also leave this ticket open until I get some feedback about how it went.

Well I guess you can re-open the ticket if you have questions :-)
