1 year ago Sorry for the late response, but as you can see, this is a pretty old repository. I wonder if this even still works, since Minetest changed a lot in all the years since.
I'm not playing with Minetest these days, so I would not do it now, but if I would do something like this, I thing it would be preferable to not have tools on the same mod, to allow people to use it in different ways. It would be better to create a new mod that depends on this one (if it still works). It's very easy to do, you can probably do it yourself in 1 hour or less.
Could you add a rock tool that can be made with these rocks? I'm thinking something like a hand axe that can be used for digging in the dirt and cutting wood.
This is to support a set up where trees cannot be dug by hand, and there is a 2x2 craft grid (where normal tools cannot be crafted normally).
I would recommend a shapeless recipe that requires two rocks, and leaves one behind to simulate the knapping process, while outputting a hand axe.
