@briancoogan has observed that the following should probably be done to make the site more visually presentable:

Footer should be centred to align with the rest of the page, according to default Minima theme config.
Footer should also be in a smaller font size locally as an indicator to ensure that it actually looks like a footer. It would be great if Brian could submit a PR to show me what he means so I can review and then consider adding.

I am not closing this issue but will create another issue or PR that will close this issue. In order to fix this, the visual layout of the entire site will need a pretty big overhall. At the moment, it does visually look a bit on the plain side of things.
