All my work has been lost! 45 minutes of transcription

What steps will reproduce the problem?

What is the expected output? What do you see instead? I am offered the 
opportunity to open the file that I had saved and closed. What I get instead is 
a blank screen as if opening a new transcription

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Version 1.1 (1.1.1) on Mac OS X Yosemite 10.10.4

Please provide any additional information below.
Please please please tell me how to rectify this - dissertation due soon and 
this is hours of work!

Please provide more information. Did you save your file? If yes, can you open 
it with another application - like TextEdit?  
(Did you backup your work?)

Thanks for getting back to me.
Yes, I did save the work and I eventually found it  in an rtf file. Still a 
transcriptions file but without the media pane. 
I saved it just before the programme froze, and then when i tried to re-open 
it, it just came up with a blank file - like I had opened a new transcription. 
I tried repeatedly and with the same effect. I then restarted the whole 
computer and the problem remained the same, It also stopped letting me open the 
mp4 files I was transcribing from. Weird - it had been working well up until 
then. Still, luckily I found the work…
