Reaver Skipped Between 73% and 90% #166

2. Is your wireless card in monitor mode (yes/no)?

Yes

3. What is the signal strength of the Access Point you are trying to crack?

V good....we are in the same room. :o)

4. What is the manufacturer and model # of the device you are trying to
crack?

TalkTalk

5. What is the entire command line string you are supplying to reaver?

reaver -i mon0 -b "My BSSID" -vv

6. Please describe what you think the issue is.

My ignorance ?

I am not sure whether this is some sort of clever optimising thing you have 
made or an error.

I tested my router and (very sadly) spent a lot of time watching Reaver work.  
I noticed that over time it ran steadily through 0% - 10% - 20% etc to 73% and 
then it suddenly jumped to 90% !  0% to 73% took about 9 hours but the leap 
from 73% to 90% was seconds.

Fortunately for me my Pin started with an 8 so I allowed it to continue as I 
could see that the numbers being tested were close.

Reaver worked and found my Pin but I was wondering why it missed out between 
73% and 89% entirely ?

73%= aprox 7300 try's for the first four pins
90%= fist four pins found
10% left out = 1000 combinations left for the last four pins

100% = 11'000 possible combinations

Thank you for your help.

So it would seem it was my ignorance after all !  I'm not sure if to be happy 
that Reaver is working perfectly or to be worried that I am a bit thick !! :o)
