It would be a nice feature. For instance --output about/index.html will create about/ directory if not exists.

On the second thought this might be a job for a deployment script. However not having fatal errors when non-existing directory is specified would be also nice.

So I'm fine with both if this ticket is closed or implemented.

Reasonable. Feel free to make a PR for that. Will close this issue in the meantime
