The G36k was a complete trainwreck. It was modelled completely freehand - nothing was aligned to anything else, the model wasn't symmetrical at all, cylinders seem to have been created by hand instead of using the appropriate mesh tools... I substantially overhauled the model, making sure that everything is center-aligned and symmetrical, aligning vertices into planes, etc. I also adjusted the foregrip to better resemble the real gun, and reduced the size of the flashlight by 20%.
For the M4 Super 90, I made some minimal effort to fake the ejection port using abnormal texture alignment. I also added the little handle that the real weapon has on the ejection port. M1911A1 MP5

@eezstreet I am a software engineer. 3D modelling is a hobby for me. I'm not great at modelling complex objects from scratch, but working with existing models is easier.

As an experiment, I significantly remodeled the UMP in addition to adding the right side M870 M870 Less Lethal Nova with new rail Nova Glock 19 MP5 SD6 reskin MP5 SD6
I went ahead and crossed out the ones that you aren't able to repair, so that the status label shows the correct number of weapons left.
@eezstreet Well, those weapons still need a right side added, even if I can't do it myself, so I feel that they shouldn't be crossed out. Or are you planning on removing them from the game?
Browning HP. I also tweaked the shape of the mesh to better match the real weapon, adjusted the tone of the texture, and added a specular map AKM. I also partially reskinned it and added a specular map.
Pretty much all of the guns in the game need a right side to be added to them so they don't have visible holes when using iron sights (with the possible exception of the SG552). See #198
I am working on this, but it is probably going to take months. It is apparent that the original devs put little serious effort into the view models. Many of them are rotated, asymmetrical, and otherwise sloppy. Some appear to have been modelled completely freehand.
In the interest of getting this done within a reasonable timeframe, I'll mostly be filling in the right side of each model by mirroring the left side. This means that features unique to the right side of the gun, such as ejection ports, may be missing from the models. Since the right side of each gun is only visible when aiming down sight, and even then only barely visible, I think this is an acceptable compromise.
