Tomoyo After - English patch v1.1 - Dungeons & Takafumis broken #40

Game: Tomoyo After - English patch v1.1 [Doki] The Dungeons & Takafumis minigame is very broken.

1) its really slow. 2) no sprites show up on the checkerboard play area. 3) values like exp are always shown as 0 or 999, etc. 4) after starting a battle, i immediately get the cleared screen, and move to the next floor, without earning any exp or seeing any battle.

and other issues too...

This is known and described in the file STATUS.TXT: https://github.com/eglaysher/rlvm/blob/master/STATUS.TXT

Morlok8k commented 11 years ago

ahh, i only looked at the readme which says:

rlvm currently plays the following games to their completion:

|------------------------+--------------------+---------------------| | Game | Original Japanese | English Fan Patch | |------------------------+--------------------+---------------------| | Tomoyo After | OK | (None) | |------------------------+--------------------+---------------------|

well, that sucks... status.txt should be updated with more detail then.

well, if progress is made with the work on the Little Busters Baseball minigame, then there may be hope of it working in the future...

I'm reopening this for tracking. It's a nice to have, but is really difficult since it's a custom DLL that would have to be reverse engineered and reimplemented.

(Is the game completable without the Takafumi section?)

Morlok8k commented 11 years ago

Yes, the main storyline(s) are all complete. The True ending, the multiple premature endings, the "bad end", and everything in between work great.

However, I think there is a CG picture that you can only get in the Extras section by completing the minigame (either 2 or 8 times, from what i've read.)

Minor issues: There are some font display issues (clipping of edges), but its minor. (it requires "msgothic.ttc" (MS Gothic) in the game dir, but i found that using "ARIALUNI.TTF" (Arial Unicode) and renaming it to "msgothic.ttc" looks much nicer and helps with the edge clipping.)

Also, the opening movie doesn't play.

All in all, the game works great.
