What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Install BURG
2. Reboot
3.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
The Plymouth splash screen is not showing. Instead, boot console output
appears.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Lastest version of Burg on 26 May, 2010, running on Ubuntu 10.04 Lucid 64b.

Please provide any additional information below.
I'd the problem from the first time I reboot after install. Logoff splash
screen (also from plymouth, I think), is not showing too.

Yeah, this is a known issue. To fix it in the current version, add this to
/etc/default/burg:

GRUB_GFXPAYLOAD_LINUX=text

and then update-burg. This problem should be gone in the next version.

Ok, with this option I have plymouth enabled, but with a bad resolution.
This is my burg file content:

# The resolution used on graphical terminal
# note that you can use only modes which your graphic card supports via VBE
# you can see them in real GRUB with the command `vbeinfo'
GRUB_GFXMODE=1280x1024
GRUB_GFXPAYLOAD_LINUX=text

It seems the problem reported here:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/plymouth/+bug/551013

Can I fix it with BURG installed??

That seems like a linux driver issue, I don't think it can be fixed by the boot
loader.

BTW, you can try the method described in #73 by Tomas Šaduikis, adding a
vga=xxx
parameter to GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX. You also need to set GRUB_GFXPAYLOAD_LINUX to
the
specified resolution or use GRUB_LINUX16:

GRUB_GFXMODE=1280x1024
GRUB_GFXMODE_LINUX=1280x1024
GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX=" vga=xxx"

or

GRUB_GFXMODE=1280x1024
GRUB_GFXMODE_LINUX=text
GRUB_LINUX16=true
GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX=" vga=xxx"

As there is no further reports, I assume this issue is fixed.

Plymouth is showing, but in bad resolution. I think its a linux driver issue.

Thanks.
