Edit: I've now seen, that you've made the necessary customizations to the Makefile already in #543. Were you able to build a custom firmware locally on your system? Most HAMs that I know, that aren't blind, may prefer to keep the voice disabled, so it would be a good idea, to leave that the default value, maybe.
