Runs some linting, formatting, and documentation updates. I also fixed a few typos and broken references found in the process.

I'm looking at this right now, and then I'll dig into the PRs that relate to testing. I installed the GitHub CLI this morning, and it's been really helpful for working with PRs. Thanks for that suggestion!

Some of these link errors with localhost have persisted because I usually have a development version of the docs open locally, so those links aren't broken for me.
