External Sensor #4

I saw the tip "It is recommended to use a sperarate temperature sensor and place it not too close to the AC unit." I have an external sensor in the same room as my unit and there's around an 8 degree F difference between them - is the tip above saying I can have that sensor substitute for the internal one for controlling the unit, or just that you shouldn't rely on the internal sensor readout if you want to know the actual temperature?

In this case I recommend to set the temperatureSensor to disabled. In many AC units the built-in sensor is not perfect. You can use your external sensor to measure the actual temperature and create automations in Home App. The external sensor won't be connected to the AC unit. It does not replace the built in sensor. They work independently from each other. You can rely on the external sensor readout and you can use the external sensor in Home App scenarios. But the AC unit will display the temperature based on the internal sensor.
