Currently, EICrecon constructs associations between calorimeter clusters and the highest energy contributing MCParticle. A more judicious design choice -- e.g. associating each cluster to all contributing particles which initiate a shower in in a given calorimeter -- would make analysis easier downstream, and would substantially simplify debugging more complex reconstruction processes (like particle flow).
